The Garden

Welcome to the garden at The Old Rectory in Peasmarsh, still more of a 'potential garden' than a 'garden' even after four years :

To plagiarise Caesar [thanks to Cassius, Brutus et al he cannot sue us] : Omnis hortus in duas partes diviso est .... It consists of the Home Garden which is the remaining 1,960 m² [0.48 acres] of the original building's land [there is evidence that some of the land was sold off] plus 4,894 m² [1.21 acres] of Glebe Land previously associated with the parish.

The property had been empty for what looked like at least three growing seasons and was neglected for several years before that so the garden was essentially derelict when we took it over in 2015.

To find out more, please use 'The Garden' drop-down menu on the menu bar above. There are sections on the layout, the development story, the plants, a picture gallery / blog and some videos taken with the wild life camera. If you have a mobile device, there is also a guided tour to use as you wander around the garden.
